history

The first written mention of Sloveč was in 1278 in a tithe list . In the 14th century, the Monastery of the Crosses with the Red Star on the Zderaz in Prague acquired the goods and patronage over the church. During the Hussite Wars , the village came to secular owners. After various noble families, Sloveč came to the estates of the Bohemian Chamber and at the beginning of the 16th century it became part of Brandý's Chamber of Commerce . Around 1550 it was assigned to the Městec Králové chamber lordship, later Sloveč became subject to the Dymokury lordship . In 1711, a new one with a wooden bell tower was built in place of the ruined church, which collapsed in 1772. A school was established around 1770.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sloveč formed from 1850 with the district Nový Dvůr a municipality in the Poděbrady district . In 1902 the new school building was inaugurated. At the beginning of 1961, the municipality of Sloveč was assigned to the Okres Nymburk, and at the same time Kamilov and Střihov were incorporated.
