Kolaje (German Hermannsdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers east of Poděbrady and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .

geography

Kolaje is on the East Bohemian Table. To the southwest rises the Oškobrh ( Wolfsberg , 285 m) and in the east the ridge Na Hřebínku ( Banberg , 271 m).

Neighboring towns are Vrbice in the north, Opočnice in the northeast, Hradčany and Báň in the east, Žehuň and Libněves in the southeast, Oškobrh in the south, Opolany and Mlýnek in the southwest, Kostelíček and Vlkov pod Oškobrhem in the west and Srbce in the northwest.

history

In 1777, in the course of the raabization, the repopulation of the area on Oškobrh , which at that time was called Vlkovský kopec / Wolfsberg , began. The villages Srbetz ( Srbce ), Wolfsberg , Lustdorf ( Oškobrh ) and Hermannsdorf were built around the mountain .

The Hermannsdorf settlement, laid out as a street village on the pastureland of the extinct village of Mastnice, got its name from the Imperial and Royal Court Councilor Johann Franz Hermann von Hermannsdorf, who acted as a commissioner for the replacement of the robot in the Podiebrad rule . Hermannsdorf originally consisted of 18 family farms, each with 2 hectares of farmland. The nine wooden houses were laid out in two rows on either side of the village street. 12 of the families were evangelists from Odřepsy and Vrbice.

In the beginning, Heřmanovice and Heřmandorf were used in addition to Hermannsdorf and its Czech counterpart Heřmanice . Because of the location of the village on an old trade route that had led under the Oškobrh along from Prague to Hradec Králové , the place was popularly known as "Na kolajích" after a serpentine climb from Raczan to 150 m wide, which was feared by carters Vlkovský Kopec, on which the village was located. In 1802 half the village burned down, after which it was rebuilt from white stones. With the construction of the new Kaiserstraße from Chlumetz to Podiebrad between 1817 and 1826 , the impassable section of the road was removed. Up until the end of the 19th century, all houses in the village had thatched roofs.

After the abolition of patrimonial Heřmanovice / Hermannsdorf formed from 1850 with the district Raczan a municipality in the district Poděbrady . From 1878 Raczan formed its own community. The municipality has been called Kolaje since 1920 . On January 1, 1961, Kolaje came to Okres Nymburk. Kolaje today consists of 63 houses.
