history

The first mention of the village, which consisted of eleven houses at the time, was in 1391 as the seat of nobleman Ivan von Kněžničky. He was followed by Zikmund von Kněžničky in 1410. The old trade route from Prague to Wroclaw runs through the village .

Burian Šlibovský von Skřivany, who acquired the goods from the Dymokury manor at the beginning of the 17th century , joined the farm, the sheep farm and the mill in Kněžičky together with Výkleky to the Slibovice manor . After the Battle of White Mountain , one third of Burian Šlibovský's property was confiscated. The Bohemian Chamber sold Výkleky and Slibovice on October 3, 1621 to Albrecht von Waldstein . Together with Slibovice Kněžičky subsequently belonged to u. a. Count Kinsky , Strahov Monastery and the captain of Poděbrady , Wenzel Albrecht Wltawský von Mannschwerdt and Helfenburg. Ferdinand Leopold Kustosch Freiherr von Zubří and Lipka acquired the goods from his son Wenzel Matthias in 1673. Ulrich Graf Kinsky then bought on Chlumetz Slibowitz with all accessories from Leopold Prokop Kustosch and struck the property of the Chlumetz rule, whereby the Slibowitz-Wyklek estate enjoyed independence until the middle of the 18th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kněžičky formed from 1850 a district of the political municipality Výkleky in the Poděbrady district. After that, the village formed a political municipality together with Slibovice. In 1867 the municipality of Kněžičky was established. In 1901 the railway from Chlumetz to Königstädtel was inaugurated, which was given a train station at the Slibowitz sugar factory. After the sugar factory was closed in 1920, the building was converted into a mill. On January 1, 1961, Kněžičky was incorporated into Běrunice and at the same time came to Okres Nymburk. The community has existed again since 1994.
