Kovansko (German Kowansko ) is a district of the municipality Bobnice in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northeast of the city center on the outskirts of Nymburk and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .

Kovansko is located on the right side of the Klobuš brook on the Bohemian Table. The north bypass of state road 38 around Nymburk is being built south of the village.

Neighboring towns are Bobnice in the north, Chleby in the northeast, Draho and Šlotava in the east, Budiměřice and Křečkov in the southeast, Nymburk in the south, Kamenné Zboží in the southwest, Zdonín and Veleliby in the west and Všechlapy in the northwest.

Kowansko was created between 1785 and 1790 as a street village on the terrain of the drained Bobnitz pond. The first inhabitants of the settlement, which consisted of two rows of houses, were Germans from Prussian Silesia .

After the abolition of patrimonial Kovansko formed from 1850 a district of the political municipality Bobnice in the Poděbrady district . In 1890 Kovansko consisted of 52 houses and had 332 Czech residents. The parish was Chleby. In 1863 a Protestant school opened. In 1919 Kovansko formed its own municipality. In 1934 the village came to Okres Nymburk and in 1980 it was incorporated into Bobnice. In 1991 the place had 224 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 116 houses in which 207 people lived.
