Bravo annual charts 1956

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first Bravo hit the newsagents on August 26, 1956 , and so the Bravo annual charts only contain hits from the last four months of 1956. The biggest hit of the year was only fourth on Bravo. Homesickness by Freddy Quinn could hold five months from June to # 1 in the sales charts and was the Seven Ravens with Smoky replaced. It is noticeable that the beginning rock 'n' roll era had no influence on the Bravo charts. The teenagers in 1956 listened to German hits instead. The strongest placement of an American title was Que serà by popular actress Doris Day . The ballad Just Walkin 'in the Rain by Johnnie Ray was the only other title from the USA to only come in 18th place. Other well-known performers, who are still known today, were also in the back seats. It was Bibi Johns , Fred Bertelmann , Peter Alexander and Lys Assia .
