Bravo annual charts for 1961

The hit of the year was the babysitter boogie of Ralf Bendix . With Wheels , a pure instrumental piece was once again able to land at the front. The Greek Nana Mouskouri , a pop singer who is still popular in Germany today , appeared in the charts in Germany for the first time. Her song White Roses from Athens is still one of the most popular evergreens. At the same time, however, she was already a recognized jazz singer in the USA , something that only became known to a broad public in Germany forty years later. The American singer Ricky Nelson was one of the biggest teen stars of the time in his homeland alongside Paul Anka and, after his success in 1959 as an actor in the western Rio Bravo alongside John Wayne and Dean Martin, he also had his first success in Germany. Hello Mary Lou then became his first hit in Germany. Elvis Presley did not land in the front seats with Muss i denn zum Städtele again, again with a song that was untypical for him. This could also be seen as a thank you for his military service in Germany from the German youth.

The original BRAVO annual charts appeared in issue 53/1961 of the youth magazine with the announcement "BRAVO names the best-selling records of 1961" in the category Bravo-Musicbox 1961. In his brochure Die Bravo-musicbox , Christian Müller ranked the in the weekly music boxes listed tracks according to a point system in the hits of the year.
