The Breeser Grund is a former nature reserve in the community-free area of Göhrde in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
The former nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 111 is around 187 hectares . It is part of the FFH area "Beech and oak forests in the Göhrde (with Breeser Grund)", which consists of four individual areas, which also includes the former nature reserves " Forests at the Göhrde hunting lodge " and " Kellerberg ". The area has been under nature protection since May 2, 1985. In this area, it replaced the "Elbhöhen-Drawehn" landscape protection area designated by ordinance of August 1, 1974 with the label DAN 27. On February 21, 2019, it was incorporated into the newly designated " oak and beech forests in the Göhrde " nature reserve . The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the Lüchow-Dannenberg district.
The former nature reserve is located northwest of Zernien within the Elbhöhen-Wendland nature park in the Göhrde state forest . The area presented a section of the state forest Göhrde under protection, of sessile oak stocks with Book and birch is embossed. A part of the area in the north-east of the protected area is a special feature of the former Hutewald . This should be preserved by placing it under protection. He is grazed with sheep for care.
Furthermore, the two hectare “Göhrder Eichen” natural forest reserve , designated in 1972, is part of the former nature reserve. This is left to its natural development.
In the rest of the former nature reserve, the near-natural forest should be preserved and developed. This area is managed for forestry.
