Breitenberg ( Italian Monte Largo ) is the name of the mountain slope east above the town of Laives in the Unterland in South Tyrol . It is bordered to the north by the Lüsenbach, south by the Brantenbach and west by the bottom of the Adige Valley and its uppermost section merges with the elevation of the Enzbirg (also: Trensbirg; 1273  m altitude) into the municipality of Deutschnofen am Regglberg .

The Breitenberg forms a historic district of Laives and has been populated with several farms since the late Middle Ages . These include the Mausegger, Mair, Gschlößler, Buchner, Brunnergütl, Gampen, Oberer and Unterer Gob, Pfösl, Stückl, Hochegg, Brunner, Obersteiner, Untersteiner and Tschuegg farms.

The name of the settlement has been attested since the 14th century. In 1369 a tailor Johannes vom “Praytenperg” appears in Bozen documents . In the district court code of Gries- Bolzano from 1487, Hans Mang is a separate district captain named "auff Praittenperg" , who at the same time acted as the sovereign tax collector.

Above the Tschuegghof there is a quarry at an altitude of approx. 850 m in which porphyry is extracted.
