Broad Rennsteig

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Breiter Rennsteig is a 16-kilometer hiking trail in Thuringia. It is a branch of the Rennsteig and connects the Thuringian Forest with Breitungen / Werra on the banks of the Werra . The Breiter Rennsteig is also known as the Ur- or Brücknerscher Rennsteig. This commemorates the Meiningen regional historian Georg Brückner (1800–1881), who considered it to be a continuation of the Rennsteig because of its border location and purpose.
