Brian Green (athlete)

Brian Green ( Brian William Green; born May 15, 1941 in Ormskirk ) is a former British sprinter .

In 1970 he retired from the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh over 100 m in the semi-finals and won bronze with the English team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . The following year he reached the semifinals of the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1971 over 100 m and was fourth in the British 4 x 100 meter relay.

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached over 100 m as well as the semi-finals in the 4-by-100-meter relay and the quarter-finals over 200 m .

In 1973 he was fourth over 60 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Rotterdam .

At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974 he failed over 100 m and 200 m in the heat and was sixth with the English 4 x 100 meter relay. Four years later he retired from the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 over 100 m in the quarter-finals and was sixth again with the English 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 1971 he was English champion over 100 m and in 1973 English indoor champion over 60 m.
