Brian Priske Pedersen (born May 14, 1977 in Horsens ) is a former Danish soccer player, most recently in the service of IK Start .
Club career
The 188 cm tall defender began his career at AC Horsens before playing for Aarhus Fremad for two years in 1997 . From 1999 to 2003 he played for Aalborg BK . In the very first year he won the Danish championship with his club. Still playing for Aalborg, he also made his debut in the Danish national team in 2003. At the 2004 European Championships, but now playing for the Belgian club KRC Genk , he could not get beyond the role of a substitute and was 0-0 against Italy for Substituted for 14 minutes.
He stayed with Genk until 2005 and then signed a contract with Portsmouth FC for 3 years. But manager Jamie Redknapp soon came back and Priske was long gone. When the club was in danger of relegation and various defenders were also canceled, he came back for the last 10 games of the season and made a significant contribution to avoiding relegation.
Very popular with the fans in Portsmouth, he did not succeed in the lead. He was told that one could do without his services. In 2006 he moved to the Belgian first division for Club Brugge and played there for two years. For the 2008/09 season he returned to his Danish homeland and hired Vejle BK , who had just been promoted to the SAS league, Denmark's first division. However, Priske went back to the second division with the South Jutes the following year. Priske stayed and wanted to make it back to the top with Vejle. However, this did not succeed.
For the 2010/11 season he moved on loan to the first division club FC Midtjylland , where he only stayed until December 2010. In January 2011 Priske moved again abroad and signed a two-year contract with the Norwegian club IK Start . In Norway, however, Priske only lasted half a year. On July 2, 2011, one day after the league game against Sogndal IL , Priske announced the end of his active career.
National team
Priske made his debut for Denmark on February 12, 2003. Brian Priske came on as a substitute for Jan Michaelsen in the 4-1 win over Egypt in Cairo . With the Danes he qualified for the 2004 European Football Championship , where he was also nominated and was also used. You could not qualify for the 2006 World Cup and the 2008 European Football Championship . Priske made his last international match on November 17, 2007 in the qualifier for the European Football Championship 2008 against Northern Ireland (4-1).
