assignment

In peacetime, the brigade scouts were kept in a high alert state (refueled and ammunitioned) in order to be able to react as quickly as possible to an external threat. Their job consisted of reconnaissance within the brigade. As a rule, they were deployed well in front of the VRV (Front Edge of Defense) of their own position troops and were among the first units to get in touch with the enemy.
