Army 2011 (from 2014)

Both brigades of the 10th Panzer Division, the 12th Panzer Brigade and the 23rd Gebirgsjägerbrigade (Bad Reichenhall), were assigned to the Southern Division at the end of June 2014 as part of the realignment of the Bundeswehr . Associated with this was the reclassification of logistics battalion 4 to supply battalion 4 on July 1, 2014. Telecommunications battalion 4 was also dissolved on July 1, and the headquarters company was simultaneously reclassified to a headquarters / telecommunications company. The non-active engineer battalion 904 was disbanded and the 4th company of the tank engineer battalion 4 in Bogen was reclassified into an inactive company for reservists. Bogen is also a ZMZ base. The mountain tank battalion 8 was reorganized in Pfreimd on September 20, 2014. It is not the former Mountain Tank Battalion 8 ( Pocking ), which was subordinate to the 12th Panzer Brigade from 1994 until its dissolution in 1997. The "new" GebPzBtl 8 should, however, be part of its tradition. Like its predecessor, it is a "regular" tank battalion without any special qualifications for mountain warfare . Two of the four companies are active. Couleur troops are PzBtl 104 for 3./GebPzBtl 8 and the PzBtl 393 8 for 4./GebPzBtl The 4./GebPzBtl is not like the other companies in Pfreimd, but in Bad Frankenhausen . 1./GebPzBtl 8 and 2./GebPzBtl 8 are not active. internal association badge

Association badge

The blazon of the association badge for the uniform of the members of the 12th Panzer Brigade reads:

Gold bordered , split by a rising and curled red tip, inside two diagonally crossed silver keys ; in front in black a left-turning, red-armored and red-crowned golden lion , behind the Bavarian diamonds .

The association badge is very similar to the coat of arms of the Upper Palatinate district . The Petri key is shown as in the Regensburg city arms , the Palatinate lion as a symbol for the Palatinate and the Bavarian diamonds as in the state flag and state arms . The association badges of the division and the subordinate brigades were identical except for the shelves . In the tradition of the Prussian color sequence , the association badge of the 11th Panzer Brigade as the “third” brigade of the division has a yellow border.

Since the badges of the division's brigades differed only slightly, the internal badge of the staff or the staff company pars pro toto is used instead as the brigade's "badge". It shows a silver city gate . An earlier version featured a PzBr12 monogram instead .
