Brigitte Fehrle (born December 19, 1954 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist . From July 1, 2012 to September 30, 2016, she was editor-in-chief of the Berliner Zeitung .

Life

Fehrle initially trained as a bookseller and then studied political science at the Free University of Berlin . After graduating in 1984, she worked as a freelancer and then as a permanent editor at the Berlin taz . From there she moved to Wendezeiten 1990 as responsible editor for the Berlin state politics to Berliner Zeitung . There she rose to the position of senior editor in the domestic affairs department and later to deputy editor-in-chief.

At the same time as editor-in-chief Uwe Vorkötter , Fehrle moved from August 2006 to August 2007 to the same post at the Frankfurter Rundschau . Then she took over the management of the capital correspondents office of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit for almost two years . In March 2009, she returned to her post as vice-editor-in-chief of the Berliner Zeitung . Since July 1, 2012, Fehrle was the sole editor-in-chief of the capital newspaper of the media group M. DuMont Schauberg . On October 1, 2016, it was replaced for reasons of economy.

Fehrle has lived in Berlin-Kreuzberg for a long time and has a second home in Wendland .
