Brigitte Hasenjürgen

Brigitte Hasenjürgen (* 1954 ) is a German sociologist and editor of various sociological books. The focus is on research in the areas of social inequality , gender relations and migration .

Life

Hasenjürgen grew up in Herten in North Rhine-Westphalia . She completed a degree in social sciences , Catholic theology and educational sciences at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . After completing her studies, she worked in Bremen in the self-managed company CON, a publishing house, book distributor and film rental company on the subjects of the Third World and foreigners in Germany . In the following years Hasenjürgen was a research assistant at the University of Bremen , the University of GH Essen and the Ruhr University Bochum . She received her doctorate at the Westphalian Wilhelms University on the subject of the reproduction of social power in the scientific field .

Since March 1998, Hasenjürgen has been professor for sociology at the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia , Department of Münster.
