Brigitte Oltmanns

Brigitte Oltmanns (born February 27, 1934 in Leipzig ; † March 19, 2013 ) was a German art historian and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Oltmanns studied art history and classical archeology at the University of Greifswald from 1952 to 1957 . She then worked in various museums, in the art trade and in publishing. At times she was a freelancer at the Institute for the Preservation of Monuments and head of the Oberhavel district .

politics

From 1990 to 1993 Oltmanns was a member of the community council of Glienicke / Nordbahn . After an interruption, she was again a community representative there from 1998 and at the same time a member of the district council in Oberhavel .

On 29 October 1998, Oltmanns Members of the Brandenburg state parliament , she was Nachrückerin for the selected in the Bundestag Petra Bierwirth . Oltmanns remained a member of the state parliament until the end of the legislative period on September 29, 1999. During this time, she was a member of the Petitions Committee and the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Regional Planning.

On May 23, 1999, she took part in the 11th Federal Assembly, at which Johannes Rau was elected Federal President .

In 2003 she was re-elected community representative in Glienicke / Nordbahn until 2008, where she was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. Since June 2010 she was honorary chairwoman of the SPD local association Glienicke / Nordbahn.
