Brixx (* Hungary as Ildiko Basa ) is a German singer and rapper .

Career

As a child, she came with her family from Hungary to Kassel , where she was influenced by the music scene at Club World , which mainly played hip-hop . First band projects, including the group Tibro with her sister Timea, followed, and she also appeared in the supporting act for English-speaking rappers. From the mid-1990s she had various featurings as a singer and rapper. She could be heard with Walkin 'Large ("Boy Meets World"), Sabrina Setlur and Cora E. ("Hija"). Her debut solo album Everything Happens For A Reason was released in 1999 by the Mayor label Columbia Records and was named "Album of the Month" by Juice magazine .

In 2002 she was the protagonist of the rap documentary Will once up to the sun by director Petra Mäussnest together with Cora E. and Pyranja .

In 2005 she sang club music with Push Your Body for Sharam Jey and Suavemente for Paul Cless . The latter was a hit especially in France. In 2008 she rapped together with Afrob on the tracks Cobra and Schnelle Nummer in German. In 2009 she rapped and sang together with the French rapper Casus Belli on the track Douce Folie for the Franco-German sampler La Connexion .

In 2013 she appeared as a guest musician on the track Jungle Book for the mixtape Perlen vor die Säwe von Samy Deluxe . She also took part in the track Keine Liebe on the album Male by the same rapper , released in March 2014 .
