Broken Barricades is the fifth studio album by the British progressive rock band Procol Harum . It was released in June 1971.
reception
Matthew Greenwald writes at AllMusic that after the departure of the organist Matthew Fisher, the band's sound on this album sounds a bit sparse, but “definitely not without size and dynamism”. He highlights Simple Sister as "really great" and says it is one of the best compositions by Gary Brooker and Keith Reid . Other titles like Power Failure and Playmate of the Mouth are classified as "first class songs".
