Bronislaw Klabiński

Bronisław Klabiński (* 20th August 1924 in Herne , Germany ; † 13. September 1999 in Menen , Belgium ) was of Polish nationality and operating in France bicycle racing .

Athletic career

Bronisław Klabiński is one of five brothers who all practiced cycling. His family lived in Germany in the 1920s, in Poland in the 1930s, and in France since the 1940s.

To the III. International Peace Trip In 1950 , a five-man team , made up of Poles living in France, started for the first time. Among them were three of the Klabiński brothers, including Bronisław Klabiński. This became one of the most striking actors in the stage race from Warsaw to Prague . By winning the second stage, he won the yellow jersey of the leader in the overall standings and wore it until the fifth part of the day. Until the end he fought a duel with the Dane Willy Emborg and finally, after he had also won the seventh stage, was second in the overall individual standings. Also at the Peace Race 1951 from Prague to Warsaw to Bronisław Klabiński involved in the framework of the French-Polish team, this time together with his brother Feliks Klabiński . He could not repeat his leading role of 1950 and was eliminated from the race. His brother Wladyslaw took 29th place.
