Brough and Shatton is a civil parish ( civil parish ) in the High Peak District of Derbyshire in England . The parish consists of the two hamlets of Brough on Noe and Shatton , which are approximately 2 km apart. They are on the River Noe, a tributary of the Derwent in the Peak District National Park , between Sheffield and Manchester . According to the 2001 census, the community had 145 inhabitants. There are lively sporting competitions and other joint events between the two parts of the community.
A dedicatory inscription for the goddess of healing Arnemetia (Arnomecta) with the text DEAE ARNOMECTE (RIB 281) was found in Brough on Noe.
