The Brunausee is a still water in the unified municipality of Bispingen in the district of Heidekreis in Lower Saxony .
The approximately seven hectare quarry pond , which is about 680 meters long and a maximum of about 130 meters wide, is located in the Bispinger district of Behringen . It was created as a quarry pond in 1980/81 and is located between the state road 211 and the A 7 to the east . It is traversed by the Brunau , a left tributary of the Luhe .
In the area around the Brunausee there is a campsite , a bay, a jetty with pedal boats , a playground, a café-restaurant and a quad track . The lake is a popular recreational area for the entire region .
