Brunei Polytechnic University ( PB ; Malay Politeknik Brunei ; Jawi : ڤوليتيكنيك بروني, Brunei Polytechnic ) is the first technical university in Brunei. The university was founded in 2008 with the consent of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and opened in January 2012. Students can obtain a diploma.
Faculties
The Politeknik Brunei consists of four faculties:
- School of Business
- School of Information Technology
- School of Science and Engineering
- School of Health Sciences
campus
The university currently has three campuses. The main campus and the campus of the School of Health Sciences are located in the Brunei-Muara district , while a branch exists in the Belait district .
Main campus
The main campus in Brunei-Muara is still provisionally housed and is located in one of the residential buildings that were used to accommodate the athletes at the 1999 Southeast Asian Games. The location is Jalan Ong Sum Ping in Bandar Seri Begawan . The School of Business and the School of Information Technology are located at this location.
The director's office and other administrative offices are also located in this complex.
Satellite campus
The School of Health Sciences campus is located at the PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences at the University of Brunei Darussalam . The courses offered there used to be part of the university's offer, but since 2016 they have been under the administration of the Politeknik.
The Belait campus is located in Lumut , approx. 91 km from the main campus. The School of Science and Engineering is located there. The courses are mainly technical in nature, but there are also programs for interior design and architecture.
Programs
All courses last three years. After passing the course, the students receive a diploma. The programs are accredited as Level 5 in the National Qualifications Network , except for the Diploma for Health Sciences, which is classified as Level 4.
In addition to architecture, economics, engineering and information technology, interior design, midwifery, nursing and orthopedic technology are also taught.
