Bruno Chimirri (born January 24, 1842 in Serra San Bruno , Kingdom of the Two Sicilies , today: Province of Vibo Valentia , † October 28, 1917 in Amato , Province of Catanzaro ) was a lawyer and politician in the Kingdom of Italy , who was a member of the between 1874 and 1913 Chamber of Deputies ( Camera dei deputati ) and was a minister several times.

Life

Bruno Chimirri studied law and then worked as a lawyer . On November 23, 1874, he became a member of the Chamber of Deputies ( Camera dei deputati ) for the first time and was a member of it continuously from the twelfth to the end of the 23rd legislative period on September 29, 1913. Between May 26, 1880 and April 27, 1886 he was secretary of the Presidium of the Chamber of Deputies. In the Di Rudinì I cabinet, he initially held the post of Minister for Agriculture, Industry and Trade (Ministro dell'Agricoltura, Industria e Commercio) between February 6 and December 30, 1891 and, after a cabinet reshuffle, from December 31, 1891 to May 15, 1892 Minister for Justice and Church Affairs (Ministro di Grazia e Giustizia e dei Culti) .

Later Chimirri was between June 10, 1895 and March 2, 1897 Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies and from November 18, 1899 to May 17, 1900 Vice-Chairman of the Budget Committee of the Camera dei deputati. For his services he received the Grand Cross of the Order of the Knights of Saints Mauritius and Lazarus and the dignity of commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy .
