Bruno Eyferth

Oscar Bruno Eyferth , (born June 23, 1826 in Holzminden ; † June 17, 1897 in Braunschweig ) was a German mining official and naturalist .

Life

Eyferth attended schools in Zorge , Blankenburg and Braunschweig before he was trained as a Hütteneleven. After passing his exam, he went to Zorge for two years in 1844. This was followed by training at the Collegium Carolinum in Braunschweig from 1846 to 1852 , which Eyferth completed with the Hüttenoffiziantenexamen. He then worked as a hut assistant at the Rübeland hut inspection . In 1854 he moved to Zorge as a hut clerk and in 1861 became chamber secretary in Braunschweig. In 1876 he became assessor, in 1889 chamber assessor and associate member of the management of the mines. In 1896 he was awarded the title of mountain council .

In addition to his main job, Eyferth carried out scientific studies, in particular on freshwater organisms. He published his microscopic investigations in numerous hydrobiological publications, which were also recognized abroad.

He was a member and at times secretary of the Association for Natural Science in Braunschweig .

Eyferth last lived in Braunschweig on Celler Strasse . He died in June 1897.
