Bruno Paul Hetze
Bruno Paul Hetze (born September 11, 1866 in Chemnitz , † April 27, 1901 in Munich ) was a German painter.
Hetze studied from March 15, 1889 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . He was a student of Johann Caspar Herterich and Wilhelm von Diez and mainly painted landscapes. From 1895 he was represented at exhibitions. His works are described as "art that is sympathetic because of its simplicity, inspired by genuine feeling, and which in its works lets the magic of peaceful nature speak to the beholder". His motives and the elegiac mood were probably shaped by the lung disease and a premonition of early death. Emil Dinier made a portrait relief of him. The magazine Die Kunst für Alle showed some pictures of him.
Exhibitions (selection)
At the commemorative exhibition that took place in 1901, Hetze's works were shown in the entrance hall of the exhibition building. There, too, the naturalness of his pictures was particularly praised. It says: "The smell of meadows and the rustling of the forest wafts towards us from Hetzes tables."
