Bruno Schönlank (born July 31, 1891 , † April 1, 1965 in Zurich ) was a German poet , playwright , novelist and radio play author . He was the son of the journalist Bruno Schönlank .

After attending high school and an agricultural school, he worked as a bookseller's assistant. Following a peace demonstration in 1915, he was arrested and then drafted. During the November Revolution he was temporarily close to the Spartacus group . Until 1933 he worked as an editor of several social democratic newspapers. In 1933 he emigrated to Switzerland and settled in Zurich.

His works are characterized by left, social democratic positions and an abstract symbolic style. He is regarded as a working-class poet, and his speaking choirs are especially important for the development of this genre.
