In 2003 he won the US Amateur Public Links , one of the most important amateur tournaments in the United States, and became a professional golfer the following year and played on the Nationwide Tour . In 2006 he won two tournaments and qualified for the PGA TOUR . Already in the first season Snedeker achieved a tournament victory and finally he was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year 2007, so as the best newcomer of the year. After a third place at the US Masters 2008, he was able to advance into the top 50 of the golf world rankings, which guarantees him the right to start in majors and the high-value events of the World Golf Championships tournament series.

The greatest success of his career to date was winning the THE TOUR Championship in 2012. At the same time, he secured overall victory in the FedEx Cup and the associated prize money of 10 million US dollars.

Snedeker celebrated victories with the US selection at the Presidents Cup 2013 and the Ryder Cup 2016 .

The game

Brandt Snedeker's greatest strength is his play with the putter: In 2012, Snedeker led the PGA ranking statistic "Strokes Gained" with a value of 0.86 (this number expresses how much the average number of putts is deviates from the average of all players at a given distance to the hole - unlike the absolute number of putts, it is largely independent of other variables such as the quality of the approach). His extremely fast game is noticeable: he only has a short pre-shot routine for all strokes, especially in the last phase, positioning on the ball until the actual stroke, is carried out extremely quickly. During the long game, as part of his routine, he knocks the club head twice on the floor.
