Bruno Thalmann

Bruno Thalmann (* 13. February 1919 in Marbach at Erfurt ; † the 30th November 1975 ) was a German politician and functionary of the GDR - Block Party LDPD . He was a member of the State Council of the GDR .

Life

Thalmann, son of a working-class family, attended elementary and secondary school and completed an apprenticeship as an electrician from 1935 to 1938. From 1938 to 1940 he studied at the Hamburg engineering school . He completed his studies as an electrical engineer . He then did military service and was taken prisoner of war .

From 1946 to 1972 he was the owner and operations manager of the Thalmann KG company in Berlin-Lichtenberg , from 1959 as a general partner and, after the nationalization of the company in 1972, as operations manager of VEB steel structures . From 1959 to 1961 he completed a special course for general partners at the Berlin School of Economics . In 1960 he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD) and was a member of the LDPD district executive in Berlin from 1962 . From 1963 he was a candidate, then from 1967 a member of the LDPD central board. From 1963 he was a member of the LDPD parliamentary group in the People's Chamber . From 1966 to 1969 he was chairman of the commission for industry, construction and transport of the LDPD district committee in Berlin. From May 1969 to November 1971 he was a member of the State Council of the GDR.

Thalmann died at the age of 56 and was buried in the Pankow III cemetery.
