Bryony Katherine Worthington, Baroness Worthington (born September 19, 1971 in Wales ) is a British environmental activist and Labor Party politician who has been a member of the House of Lords since 2011 .

Life

Bryony Worthington graduated after school a degree in English literature at Queens' College of the University of Cambridge . Then she worked for Raleigh International operates a UK-based aid organization for youth and sustainable development , as well as the mid-1990s in the environmental movement. In 2000, she moved to the environmental protection organization Friends of the Earth , where she dealt in particular with issues relating to climate change .

On February 2, 2011, she was raised to the nobility as a Life Peeress with the title Baroness Worthington , of Cambridge in the County of Cambridgeshire, and has been a member of the House of Lords ever since . Since 2012, Baroness Worthington, who is also committed to the Weinberg Foundation for the use of thorium- based nuclear energy , has been Whip of the Labor Group in the House of Lords.
