The Poppenweiler barrage is a river barrage and consists of a double lock on the left bank, a hydroelectric power station on the right bank and a three-field weir in the middle of the river Neckar . This construction is typical of the 1950s. The barrage is located between the Ludwigsburg districts of Poppenweiler and Neckarweihingen .
technology
The jamb depth of the locks is 3.20 meters. The gate of the lock chamber up the Neckar is a lifting sector and can be raised about a meter to fill the chamber. The gate located downstream is a swing gate and can be folded down. It has counterweights on ropes and is raised hydraulically.
