The Oberesslingen barrage is located on the Neckar in Oberesslingen , a district of Esslingen am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg . The lock is operated remotely from the remote control center in the Obertürkheim barrage. The system was built with two lock chambers, but only the left one is in operation; the right lock chamber is missing all mobile parts. Here there is only the chamber itself. The gradient of the Neckar is used here by the Oberesslingen power plant to generate electricity.
location
Seen from the Rhine , the barrage is the 26th and penultimate installation.
