The Deizisau barrage is the topmost river barrage on the Neckar in Deizisau in the Esslingen district in Baden-Württemberg . The barrage consists of a lock on the left bank and a weir on the right in the direction of flow . The lock is operated remotely from the remote control center in Obertürkheim. It is the only Neckar lock with only one chamber. The end of the river's expansion is only two kilometers further up in Plochingen. The Deizisau hydropower plant has two Kaplan tube turbines, one of which can pump back into the headwater.
location
Seen from the Rhine , the Esslingen barrage is the 27th and therefore the last facility. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the power station canal to Altbach and the port of the city of Plochingen, to which it was built.
