The Bsipi Mountains ( Russian Бзыбский хребет ; Georgian ბზიფის ქედი ; Abkhazian Агеишьха ) is a mountain range in Abkhazia in northwest Georgia .
The mountain range extends over a length of 50 km in a west-east direction south of the western main ridge of the Greater Caucasus . It is delimited to the north and west by the river valley of the Bsipi . The Abkhaz Mountains join in the east . The Black Sea coast with the coastal cities of Gudauta and Sochumi runs south . The rivers Chypsta , Aapsta , Sapadnaja Gumista , Vostochnaja Gumista and Kelassur drain the mountains to the south. The Bsipi Mountains reach a maximum height of 3033 in the Chimsam . The mountains consist mainly of limestone . A ramified karst system is located in the Bsipi Mountains. The slopes are covered by deciduous deciduous forest and conifers . Alpine vegetation grows in the summit region.
