The Bsipi ( Georgian ბზიფი ; Abkhazian Бзыҧ Bsyp ; Russian Бзыбь Bsyb ) is a river in the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia in northwest Georgia .
The Bsipi rises on the southern flank of the western Great Caucasus . It initially flows in a westerly direction along the northern flank of the Bsipi Mountains , later it turns south. About 10 km before its mouth south of Gagra in the Black Sea , it reaches the coastal plain.
The Bsipi has a length of 110 km. It drains an area of 1510 km². When leaving the mountain, the mean discharge is 97 m³ / s. At least in the past, rafting was carried out on the river .
The Riza lake is located in the catchment area of the Bsipi. Its water flows over Iupschara and Gega to the Bsipi.
