The Bukhara eremurus ( Eremurus bucharicus ) is a plant from the genus eremurus ( Eremurus ) in the subfamily of asphodeloideae (Asphodeloideae).

features

The Bukhara steppe candle is a perennial herbaceous plant that forms a rhizome and reaches heights of 80 to 100 centimeters. The stem is hairy at least below. The leaves are narrow linear. The outer ones are gray-green, about 5 millimeters wide, triangular and more or less hairy. The inflorescence is about 30 centimeters long, loose and slightly conical. The flower stalks are protruding, the lower ones are 4 centimeters long. The tepals are pale pink, have a dirty purple nerve and are 13 to 14 millimeters long. The inner ones are twice as wide as the linear outer ones. The capsule fruits have a diameter of 15 to 18 millimeters.

The flowering time is in June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.

Occurrence

The Bukhara steppe candle occurs in northern Afghanistan and in southwest Tajikistan on slopes rich in fine earth with shrub and thorn bush steppes at altitudes of 500 to 1600 meters.
