Winter sports

The Buchberg is used together with the nearby Rotbühl as a winter sports area. In addition to the cross-country skiing center on Rotbühl, there are also two drag lifts on Buchberg. The ski lift near Sitzambuch was originally built by the former municipality of Kemnath am Buchberg and then became the property of the town of Schnaittenbach. The second ski lift is in the village of Mertenberg . This is privately owned.
