Mertenberg is a district of the town of Schnaittenbach in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

history

In 1283 there were three fiefdoms in Mertenperg. King Ludwig of Bavaria prescribes 13420 young Nothafft these goods. In 1326 there were five fiefdoms at Mertenberg, three of which were owned by Ortlieb Zenger , and two belonged to the duke.

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Kemnath am Buchberg , to which Mertenberg belonged, was incorporated into the town of Schnaittenbach.

Mertenberg is located on State Road 2399 between Kemnath am Buchberg and Freudenberg . From Kemnath am Buchberg it's two kilometers to Mertenberg.

Mertenberg is connected to local public transport via a bus line. This is line 74 of the RBO between Götzendorf or Mertenberg and Schnaittenbach.

The nearest train stations are in Wernberg-Köblitz (11 km), Nabburg (13 km) and Amberg (18 km).
