Demenricht is a district of the town of Schnaittenbach in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

origin of the name

The place name of the village Demenricht has changed significantly over the years. In 1578 Demenricht was mentioned as Themmenriedt, 1594 as Dembrieth, 1628 as Demrieth and 1766 also as Dembrieth. The name goes back to the clearing of a Temmo or a Tammo.

Demenricht is on the AS 26 district road between Schnaittenbach and Kemnath am Buchberg . From Schnaittenbach you can reach Demenricht via the AS 19 district road and the AS 26 district road after 3 km. From Kemnath am Buchberg it is 4 km to Demenricht.

Demenricht is connected to local public transport via two bus routes. These are RBO line 44 between Neuersdorf and Nabburg via Schnaittenbach ( VGN line 444) and RBO line 74 between Götzendorf or Mertenberg and Schnaittenbach.

The nearest train stations are in Wernberg-Köblitz (13 km), Nabburg (16 km) and in Amberg (21 km).
