Location of Haidhof in Schnaittenbach
|
Haidhof is a district of the town of Schnaittenbach , district Scharhof, in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria . It originally belonged to the community of Weiher , which was largely incorporated into Hirschau on April 1, 1972 . Only Haidhof and Haidmühle came to Schnaittenbach.
origin of the name
The original name for the village of Haidhof was "Hirschhütte". This indicates that a so-called deer hut used to stand on the site of the house built at the beginning of the 19th century. In this hut, the feed was kept for game feeding. At the request of the later owner Johann Biehler, who considered the name unsuitable, the place name was renamed "Haidhof" with the approval of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior on August 6, 1881, based on the field name Schlosshaid.
