Haidmühle is a district of the town of Schnaittenbach in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria . It originally belonged to the community of Weiher , which was largely incorporated into Hirschau on April 1, 1972 . Only Haidmühle and Haidhof came to Schnaittenbach.

origin of the name

The place name Haidmühle is to be interpreted as a mill on the heath. In 1421 a property is mentioned "on the Hayd". In 1503 the Haidmühle is called Haidemüll and 1567 Haydmul, 1630 Haidtmühl, 1661 Haidenmühl and 1723 Haidenmüll.
