The book publishing radio is a German publisher for E-Books and Audio Books , based in Leipzig . It was founded in 2004 by the journalist Johannes M. Ackner and the Germanist David Fischbach as a civil law society (GbR). The program focus is on literary readings and radio plays as well as historical novels published as e-books.

The publishing program includes literature by younger authors, including Thomas Klupp , Markus Orths and Michael Weins, and modern classics such as Else Lasker-Schüler . In addition to contemporary literature, Buchfunk is also devoted to complete recordings of public domain classics of world literature - The Bible and The Koran were published in full readings, as well as Giacomo Casanova's Story of My Life , All Children's and Household Tales by the Brothers Grimm and All Sherlock-Holmes Tales by Arthur Conan Doyle .

The audio book production Jean-Henri Fabre Der Heilige Pillendreher , spoken by Gert Heidenreich , with electroacoustic music by Robert Rehnig , has been awarded the German Audio Book Prize 2013 in the category Best Non-Fiction .
The following were nominated for the "Best Radio Play" category for the German Audiobook Prize: Oliver Kontny / Marc Sinan (music) Iranian Voices (2014) and Jennifer Egan / David Fischbach Black Box (2015)
For the audio book production Brothers Grimm Complete Children's and Household Tales , the publisher was selected on the longlist of the German Audio Book Prize 2016 in the category Best Publishing Achievement .
