The Illana Bay is part of the Gulf of Moro in the southwestern part of the island of Mindanao in the Philippines .
The Philippine provinces of Zamboanga del Sur , Lanao del Norte , Lanao del Sur and part of Shariff Kabunsuan border these bosom . Not far from the bay rises the 1,940 meter high Makaturing volcano in the province of Lanao del Sur. The heavily rugged Daguma Mountains rise up on the south-eastern coast of the bay .
The largest ports are Pagadian City on its western end and Cotabato City on its eastern end. At Pagadian City, the bay is even more developed. This training is called Pagadian Bay .
At Cotabato, the Mindanao River flows 320 km into Illana Bay after a run.
