Benoît Zwierzchiewski
Benoît Zwierzchiewski (born August 19, 1976 in Mouscron , Belgium ) is a French long-distance runner .
In 1995 he was national champion in the 10,000 meter run and in 1996 and 1998 in the 10 km road run . In 1998 he was third in the Reims Marathon in 2:10:51 h, and in 2000 he was the French marathon champion with a win there in 2:10:47 . At the 2001 World Athletics Championships marathon in Edmonton, he finished 13th.
In 2002 he won the Paris Marathon in 2:08:18 and came 14th at the European Athletics Championships in Munich . The following year he finished second in the same position and set António Pinto's European record with 2:06:36 . In 2004 he finished sixth in the London Marathon in 2:09:35.
In 2009 and 2011 he won the Marseille Marathon in 2:25:57 and 2:19:39 respectively.
“Benoît Z”, as he is also called, is 1.71 m tall and weighs 57 kg.
