Bud (Norway)
Bud is a coastal village with 765 inhabitants (as of 2012) within the municipality of Hustadvika in the Norwegian province ( Fylke ) Møre og Romsdal .

Bud is located on the northwest tip of the Romsdal peninsula, the Atlantic Road runs through the town. On the lake side, various archipelagos such as Nørdre Odden and Håskjæret and the Bjørnsund archipelago are in front of the place.
history
In the 16th and 17th centuries, Bud was the largest trading center between Bergen and Trondheim . In 1533 the last Norwegian imperial meeting still independent from Denmark took place in the village under the direction of Archbishop Olav Engelbrektsson . The building stone erected by Bud commemorates this event .
In 1717 the current Bud church was built. The first direct documentary mention of a church in the village comes from 1589. During the Second World War , the German Wehrmacht built a fortification for the Atlantic Wall , the Army Coast Battery 17./976 Bud near the natural harbor. Today a museum is housed in the complex.
South of the coastal battery is the stone park dedicated to local geology .
Personalities
The author, educator and peace activist Eva Nordland (1921–2012) spent part of her childhood and youth in Bud.
