Burghardt "Buggy" Braune (* 1964 in Kiel ) is a German jazz pianist .

Career

Braune studied piano with Dieter Glawischnig at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . He became known as a member of the Florian Poser Group, of which he was a member for fifteen years; the band recorded three albums and toured Germany. In 1993 he presented his debut album Out of Innovations as a composer, leader and soloist. He accompanied Herb Geller and played alongside Lucas Lindholm for years . In 1995 he recorded the album Miles Away with the Martin Wind - Buggy Braune Quintett , in which Joe Gallardo (tb), Frank Delle (ts), Darren Beckett (dr), Martin Wind (b) are involved.

In 1996 the Buggy Braune Festival Band, arranged by Jan-Peter Klöpfel, recorded the album Colors . With Jack Walrath he recorded two albums. He also toured with Don Braden , Howard Johnson and played with Wolfgang Schlueter , Wolfgang Engstfeld , Roman Schwaller , Johannes Faber , Wolfgang Haffner , Nathan Davis , Anthony Braxton and Charlie Mariano . He also worked on projects by Jonas Schoen , Roger Cicero , Ken Norris and Joris Dudli . He is a professor for jazz piano at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater.
