Florian Poser
Florian Poser (born April 15, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German jazz musician ( vibraphone , marimba and composition).
Life
Poser comes from a family of musicians, his father is the Hamburg composer Hans Poser . As a child he first learned the cello , later self-taught piano, guitar and drums. In 1971 he started playing the vibraphone. He first studied sociology before completing a classical percussion course from 1978 to 1981 at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Since 1975 he received additional lessons from Wolfgang Schlueter , later courses from Tom van der Geld , David Friedman , David Samuels and Gary Burton were added.
In 1979 he founded his band Lifeline , with whom he has recorded several albums since 1980 and went on international tours. He recorded four records with the guitarist Peter Finger . He also played with Klaus Ignatzek and with Supersession . In addition, he leads his band project Brazilian Experience and also performs with solo programs.
Poser was appointed professor at the Bremen University of the Arts in 1994 , where he teaches popular music as part of the music teacher training program .
Prizes and awards
Poser received the Ernst Fischer Prize of the GEMA Foundation in 1985 . In the same year he won the Oldenburg Composition Competition with his “Concertino for Vibraphone and Orchestra - St. Mountain”. With his groups he won four prizes at the “Jazzpodium Niedersachsen” and received a young talent grant (1989) and a work grant (1990) from the state of Lower Saxony. His jazz compositions have been nominated twice for the “Concours International de Composition de Themes de Jazz” in Monaco .
