Buldus
Buldus († September 24, 1046 on Gellért Hill in Buda , Principality of Hungary ) was a Hungarian bishop and martyr . He is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church .
Buldus has been mentioned in various Hungarian chronicles and legends. Accordingly, he came with the bishops Gerhard of Csanád , Bystrík of Nitra and Beneta in the direction of Pest to meet Prince Andreas of Hungary there. They were attacked by insurgents in Buda. Buldus was killed by stones and lance stabs, as was Gerhard, while Bystrík and Beneta were initially able to flee to the other bank of the Danube.
In 1083 Buldus was canonized with Gerhard and Bystrík and in 1093 their feast day at a synod in Szabolc was set on September 24th. His diocese is unknown. Eger , Veszprém , Gyulafehérvár (Weißenburg) in Transylvania or Bihar were suspected .
