The logo of the Bulgarian Presidency is used in different ways. It basically consists of green capital letters BG in Latin script and the two red capital letters БГ in Cyrillic script for B ul g aria underneath. These four letters are arranged in a square and cut off at the top and bottom. The square was raised 45 ° to the left on a corner. The background of the logo is usually white. The colors white, green and red in turn form the colors of the national flag of Bulgaria ( tricolor ). Below the logo there is a reference in Latin script to the official website of the Council Presidency: eu2018bg.bg and under this note there is a reference to the Council Presidency itself in Latin script in English or optionally in Cyrillic script in Bulgarian : Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union . In the top and right tips of the square rotated by 45 °, there are two black, small squares that touch at the tips.

The logo of the Bulgarian EU Council Presidency is intended to combine three symbols, through which the Bulgarian identity is best represented. These are the Cyrillic script, the embroidery and the tricolor. The logo stands for the idea that Bulgaria is inextricably linked with Europe, but on the other hand it is also unique within the European Community.

The logo was created by Todor Angeliev and selected by a jury appointed for this purpose because the idea was original, expressive and at the same time novel.

In addition to the logo, a banner was also created, which is in the colors of the European Union and elements are modeled on the stars of the European flag . This design is by three artists from the National Art Academy : Svetlin Balesdrov , Nenko Atanassov and Milena Abanos . The banner has a blue background throughout. In the upper third is the logo of the Bulgarian Council Presidency as described above, the inscriptions are optionally in Latin script (English language) or in Cyrillic script (Bulgarian language). In the middle is the slogan : United We Stand Strong ( unity makes you strong , motto of the Republic of Bulgaria) and on the right there are symbolically arranged triangular elements in yellow and light blue, which are modeled on the stars of the European flag and which extend down to the bottom Drag the area of the banner.
