Law Bülletin of the Grand Duchy of Berg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Law Bulletin of the Grand Duchy of Berg (French Bulletin des Lois du Grand-Duché de Berg , also: Law Bulletin of the Grand Duchy of Berg ) is the official gazette for the Grand Duchy of Berg . Since the Grand Duchy has been ruled by Napoleon since July 15, 1808 , it bears the title borrowed from French : Bulletin .

It was published in German and French from November 3, 1810 to August 1813 in Düsseldorf by the Grand Ducal Bergische government book printing company . The text of the laws and ordinances is arranged so that the German text can be read on the left and the French text on the right. The publication was ordered by Napoleon on November 3, 1809.

Frequency of publication

Since the Grand Duchy of Berg had been ruled by Napoleon since 1808, but the Bulletin itself could not appear for the first time until autumn 1810, it was necessary to put the laws that had been enacted up to the first publication in a special collection. This was done in two volumes .

The first volume appeared as the "First Section" ( Première série ). This first department was delivered in two parts. According to the instructions to the bookbinder , the second part, referred to as the appendix, should be bound to the first part. This has not happened everywhere, so that in some libraries the first section is in two volumes. The 16 decrees included in the first section are numbered consecutively in Roman numerals .

The second volume contains the laws up to the first publication as the "Second Division" ( Deuxième sèrie ), in which the Bulletins No. 1 to 8 were summarized. A double count took place in such a way that, on the one hand, the booklets were numbered consecutively as a bulletin , and on the other hand the decrees, of which several were usually included in a bulletin, were also given different consecutive numbers.

The continuous publication of the laws in booklet form then took place without specifying the department, but continued the census that had begun. The bulletins were grouped together in individual volumes with their own page numbers, depending on their size. The last contained decree dates from August 12, 1813.
