The Bundesrealgymnasium and Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium St. Pölten is a Bundesrealgymnasium and Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium in the city of St. Pölten in Lower Austria . The school building is a listed building .
history
The school building was built from 1874 to 1876 according to the plans of the architect Ferdinand Zandra as a Lower Austrian state teacher training college.
architecture
The monumental three-storey, three-wing building complex is set back on the Schulring and was built in the strict style of historicism . The middle risk shows itself with a strikingly plastic plaster structure of the neo-renaissance . Behind the foyer, which is structured with pilasters , is a two-flight, two-armed staircase. An inscription plaque gives the year of construction 1875. On the plaque with names of those who died in the two world wars there is a Pietà from 1950.
